Local People to Have Say on House-Building Plans

Thornbury & Yate MP Steve Webb has welcomed plans to give local people a say over where new homes in the area will be built.

He said:

"Top-down housing targets have blighted our area for too long.

"We now need to put in place a planning process which allows local communities to judge their own housing needs and the best sites for housing development, instead of having this all imposed by Whitehall."

The Council is holding a number of public exhibitions about its Core Strategy, and the deadline for comments is 6th August.  More information is available on the Council's website here.
