Train Boss to 'Face the Music' with Local MP
The Regional Manager of First
Great Western, Andrew Griffiths, has accepted an
invitation from local MP Steve Webb to travel in to Bristol with
commuters to hear first hand their
frustrations about the poor quality of service
that they receive.
The MP will meet the regional
manager at Yate station on the morning of
Monday 28th April to travel in to Bristol on
the 0815 departure from Yate, one of two main
morning commuter services.
After the journey, the MP will meet First Great Western
bosses at Bristol Temple Meads to hear about
progress of improving standards on commuter services on
the Yate line and also on the Severn Beach line which terminates
in Steve Webb's constituency.
Speaking ahead of the journey, Steve Webb said:
"I am grateful to First Great Western's regional manager for coming out
with me to meet
commuters.
"I regularly hear from
commuters on local and mainline services who
are completely fed up with the train service
that they get and who feel that no-one is
listening.
" hope that by giving
commuters the chance to put their points
directly to a senior First Great Western
manager this will increase pressure to get services
improved".
