"Listen to South Gloucestershire" MP Tells Health Chiefs
Responding to today's report by the Bristol Health Services Plan on the
future of Frenchay and Southmead hospitals, Northavon MP Steve Webb
(whose constituency includes Frenchay Hospital) said:
"These plans are supposed to be about serving the whole of our area, not
just Bristol. If there are to be two major acute hospitals to serve the
whole area, how can it be right that the one that is downgraded is the
only one in South Gloucestershire?
"In all the consultations that have been undertaken, the
people of South Gloucestershire have overwhelmingly opposed the
downgrading of Frenchay Hospital. When the six trusts meet on 14th March
to make a final decision, it is vital that the voice of South
Gloucestershire is heard."
