MP Praises Primary Pupils for Excellent Test
Results
Northavon MP Steve Webb has today congratulated South
Gloucestershire's children on achieving an excellent set of Key Stage 2
results this year.
The results for the English and Maths tests sat by 11 year olds last
term have been praised in a letter from School Standards Minister, David
Miliband MP, as "amongst the most improved this year", in comparison
with the rest of the country.
Commenting on the achievement, Steve Webb MP said:
"I want to congratulate pupils, teachers and parents across South
Gloucestershire on an excellent year's results. Our authority already
has a reputation for high performance, and the fact that we are also one
of the fastest improving areas is a real tribute to the commitment and
dedication of everyone involved.
"Part of South Gloucestershire's success rests in the diversity of its
educational provision, from the large schools in our towns, to our
equally excellent small village schools. I hope that this strength in
diversity will continue to be celebrated in years to come."
