Good news on Acton Turville Post Office

Northavon MP Steve Webb has welcomed the news that Acton Turville Post Office is to re-open on Thursday 15th February. The MP, who is fighting to keep rural post offices open, had been in regular contact with Post Office counters since the Acton Turville office closed on a temporary basis before Christmas. The office will be run by Mrs. Jennings-Chick on an interim basis, with opening hours of Monday and Thursday 09:00-13:00/14:00-17:30, and Wednesday 09:00-13:00, and will continue on this basis until the end of May. During this period attempts will be made to find someone to take over responsibility on a permanent basis from June onwards.

Steve Webb, said:

“I am pleased that Acton Turville Post Office is to re-open. Post Offices are an important part of community life and everything possible must be done to preserve them. I hope that the breathing space provided by these interim arrangements will give time for a permanent postmaster or postmistress to be found”.
