Council Tax or Local Income Tax?

The strength of feeling generated by recent council tax rises has turned local taxation into one of today's hot political issues.  My next question to local residents is therefore on the subject of how councils should best be funded.

I am seeking a straightforward yes/no answer, but if you want to add reasons for your views in your reply, I would be very interested to read them.

Before voting you may wish to read the background notes setting out the cases for and against - which can be accessed via the links below.  I have tried to present both sides of the argument as fairly as I can so that you can form an unbiased judgement.

I will personally read every vote, although I will not reply individually to each one. However, once all the votes are in, I will email you with the results of the survey and the main arguments used on both sides; and I will tell you what action I plan to take in response.

My question is:

"Would a Local Income Tax be fairer than the Council Tax?"
